Mason & June
Jason Fowler and Melanie Conly are well known individually on the musical scene in Toronto. Since meeting in 2018, they have been making music together. Their collaboration is a truly unique musical alchemy of contemporary, folk and classical music.
Jason Fowler (Mason) has released 7 solo albums since 1995. His latest, FORELSKET, is an album of evocative instrumental guitar music. He received a CFMA nomination as Instrumental Solo Artist of the Year in 2025. As a hired gun, Jason has recorded and performed with a who’s who of Canadian talent, in addition to touring with Irish tenor John McDermott since 2001. His playing has been featured in feature films, documentaries, and musical theatre productions.
Melanie Conly (June) is acclaimed for her distinctive voice and musical expressiveness. She has been praised for her "passion and charm" (Now Magazine) and “sweet voice delivery” (Toronto Star). She originally trained in musical theatre and later classically, cultivating a diverse skill set serving her wide range of work. An experienced chamber musician and recitalist, she is often hired as a soprano soloist with choirs and orchestras and is sought out for her compelling performances of new music. Ms. Conly has been presented on many series and in festivals across Canada, and creates and performs unique themed concerts presenting a wide range of musical styles. Alongside performing, Melanie maintains a voice and piano studio in Toronto. She has been a singer for the Royal Conservatory Vocal Series of recordings since 2012 to the present. She is also a choral clinician and certified yoga instructor.
